We may still be a few months away from the 2013 edition of the Funky Flea, but I wanted to put this out early. The exciting, annual marketplace event that ties an open-air flea market approach with great food vendors, live music, and more. It’s become a very popular event and a great place to shop or sell. In general, you can find all kinds of retro items, collectibles, antiques, locally-made goods, art, records, and much more. While the event doesn’t happen until Saturday, June 1st the call for vendors officially went out today! At the very least, this article will help you remember that Syracuse does indeed have warm, sunny weather.
In case you missed out last year or didn’t know about the Funky Flea to begin with, it was held in the Everson Museum of Art’s outdoor plaza at 401 Harrison Street. Same place this year. Assuming the weather cooperates, it’s really a beautiful, practical spot for the event. While it’s too early to talk about this year’s food and vendors, I’ll have that info for you as possible.
If you’re interested in being a product vendor or food vendor this year (attention food truck people!), click here to find out how! All sorts of odd, quirky, retro, vintage, antique, and/or handmade goods are allowed and hoped for. The Funky Flea depends heavily on this call for vendors, so if you’ve got something to offer please don’t wait!
For now you can longingly look forward to June 1st, when all is right (sunny and warm) in Syracuse again. Save the date.
