Whether or not you went to their last last show at Al’s, you should definitely hit up Empire Brewing Company this Friday, March 9th for a showcase of local hip-hop talent. And I’m not just saying it because I’m friends with them. ToTs, as the self-styled potato rapper brings something totally different to the stage while Illumination lays down gritty hip-hop beats and bass for him. It’s pretty cool to see them work together on stage.

Whether you’re an SU grad, still working on that degree or just familiar with SU Hill nightlife there’s no way that Faegan’s doesn’t bring up at least a few happy memories. The pub on South Crouse remains one of my favorite bars in the area–especially Flip Night each and every Wednesday. If you don’t know about Flip Night, just show up next Wednesday–that’s all I’m saying.

The dedicated team at bc Restaurant was hard at work on their renovation project when I stopped by to chat with managing partner Ellen Leahy. As some of you may know, the restaurant closed down for what they’ve termed as a “face lift”–updating decor, installing an absolutely huge hardwood floor, organizing back of house and even tweaking the very materials on which the new, improved menu will be printed on.
