Kitty Hoynes brings you the best craft beer and perfectly pairs each with a set number of courses. This event features the Seattle-based Pyramid Breweries and 5 expertly crafted courses specifically designed to compliment the beer. Hoynes head chef Damien Brownlow is behind the night’s feast. I recently featured a special 6-course beer pairing dinner at Kitty Hoyne’s featuring Sierra Nevada, but this time they are featuring Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Ales on Wednesday, January 18th. Some of the Dogfish Head beers featured at next week’s dinner include 60 Minute IPA, Faithful Ale and Bitches Brew. For $55 you get five official courses as well as oysters on the half shell as a special bonus.

By now you all know that I love Kitty Hoyne’s so I just couldn’t help writing this quick feature. Known for excellent and authentic Irish fare and frequent specialty beer features, the downtown pub is hosting a 6-course dinner in celebration of this season’s arrival of Sierra Nevada’s Celebration Ale. It’s on Wednesday, December 7th starting at 6:30 p.m.

I swear I’m not living under a rock but it just dawned on me that the Syracuse Irishfest is already upon us. As usual there will be plenty of live music, vendors, dance and my favorite, copious amounts of Guinness, Harpoon and Irish whiskey!

There is one special event on Friday, September 9th, which is new this year. It’s called Taste of Ireland and features the best local Irish restaurants in town (Kitty Hoyne’s is my favorite). It starts at 12:00 p.m. in Clinton Square.
