Festival of Trees at The Everson

0

The 27th Annual Festival of Trees is still going on and runs through Sunday, December 9th. That means you’ve still got a week to stop in and check out over 100 decorated trees and other displays to get ready for the holidays. Trees included in the Festival are donated by community groups, local businesses, and individuals. When it’s over, the trees are sold with profits directly supporting the Everson’s mission. Stop in before it’s too late!

The Everson Museum of Art’s Festival of Trees is a long running Syracuse tradition and I’m guessing many of you have been more than once. When I was only a young Guru-in-training I remember going to the festival near Christmas time. While I was probably bored then, dragged along with my parents when all I really wanted to do was add items to my Christmas list, I’ve grown up (somewhat) and now think I’m ready to appreciate the Festival of Trees properly.

While most of the other associated events have passed, you can still head to The Everson for the next week and see the impressive tree collection. Whether you’re trying to get into the spirit of the season, get some ideas for your own tree, or maybe even purchase one at the conclusion of The Festival of Trees, definitely stop in. Admission is $10, $8 for children, and $6 for members.

There is one remaining event on December 6th from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. called “An Evening of Holiday Cheer”, which is included in your admission. Expect some live musical accompaniment while you browse the museum. Also note that The Museum Gift Shop is offering a special selections of gifts and other merch and is open during the Festival.
