Head out to Onondaga Lake Park in Liverpool and ring in the holiday season with a lap around Lights on the Lake. As locals already know, Lights on the Lake is an annual tradition in Syracuse, but what you might not know is that it’s been going on for over twenty years. This is the 23rd anniversary season! I suggest a visit, especially if you’ve got younger children.
I’m not going to say too much because we’re all familiar with Lights on the Lake, but here are some useful details. The entire drive-thru is approximately two miles and comprises all kinds of traditional holiday lights along with some interesting new additions. Plan on seeing huge, intricate displays, a Victorian village, the Land of Oz, animated scenes, and something called the “Fairytale Magic Grand Finale” among other things. Lights on the Lake opened in mid-November and runs until Sunday, January 6th. Don’t forget to stop in sometime before then! I hope it gets you in the holiday spirit.
